LIBERTY — It’s the job of every third and fourth hitter to not only hit the ball, but to hit it in key situations. LaBrae’s Morgan Meyer and Morgan Polta cornered the market when it came to hitting in the clutch in the Vikings’ 14-1 All-American Conference Blue Tier victory over Liberty at Center Park on Tuesday evening.
The M&M girls combined for seven hits and seven RBI to pace LaBrae’s 12-hit attack.
“Polta was on the JV last year,” LaBrae coach Dmetra Noble said. “I knew she could hit. I was getting her ready for the varsity. She’s very powerful. We’re trying to get her to hone in on good pitches. She can hit it over on command with the right pitch.
The All-American Conference is an OHSAA-sanctioned league, created in 2008 as the result of the merger between the Trumbull Athletic Conference and the Metro Athletic Conference in Ohio. The league has 21 different member schools, with 17 sports offered throughout fall, winter and spring sports seasons.
