AAC Student-Athlete Spotlight of the Week Q/A: Michael Massucci-Howland Tigers

Each week, the All American Conference will present a "Q & A" with one of its many gifted student-athletes from a participating AAC school.  The athlete featured must excel in the classroom and shown that he/her has gone above and beyond on both the field of play and by volunteering in his/her community.  This week's featured athlete is Michael Massucci from Howland Tigers.

Sport/Position:  Baseball, Pitcher/3rd Base
Class:  Senior
GPA:  4.0
BioI played baseball and basketball all 4 years.  I lettered in both sports as a sophomore and have served as a team captain

What are your plans after graduation?
I will pitch for Walsh University Cavilers and pursue a degree in nursing.  I would like to become a nurse anesthetist.

What is your favorite class?
Math

What do you enjoy most about playing this sport?
I love the competition and the friendships I have made.

What type of volunteer work are you involved in within your community? Why? 
I volunteer at Trumbull Memorial Hospital Emergency room as part of my service project for National Honor Society.  I am also involved in many causes such as Relay for Life and the Autism Walk.  I like making a difference in my community.

What is the most memorable moment in your scholastic career?
I was proud to receive a 4 year 4.0 letter.

What is your favorite sports related movie?
The Sandlot was my all-time favorite movie because at my house, baseball is life!

Do you have any pre-game/match/meet rituals?
I pray!

Who has the best nickname on the team and what is it?
Nick Badanjek (neverending nicknames):  Abombinal Snowman, Bumber, Barb and Jack, Lips, Badonkadon

Who is your role model? Why?
My Grandfather, Ron Massucci, because of how well like he is in the community.

What cartoon character would you be? Why?
Tarzan, because of his physical strength.

What is your favorite food?
Chipotle!

What song best describes you or is the sound track to your life? Why?
Don’t Stop Believing by Journey

Are you looking to continue your playing career in college?Yes, I will pitch at Walsh University.

Do you have a field of study already chosen when you go to college? Why that field?
I love working with people.  My volunteer experiences have led me towards a career in nursing.

What team do you most enthusiastically root for? (any sport?
Cleveland Cavaliers

A favorite quote that you live by?
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

The All-American Conference is an OHSAA-sanctioned league, created in 2008 as the result of the merger between the Trumbull Athletic Conference and the Metro Athletic Conference in Ohio.
