Canfield 3, Austintown Fitch 2
The Cardinals won the All-American Conference Red Tier. Brent Herrmann allowed two runs on nine hits, striking out five in a complete-game win. Canfield scored all three runs in the top of the third inning. Chance Merlin hit an RBI double while Jad Jadallah and Brayden Beck homered and singled. Casey Bokesch and TJ Piroch drove in runs for the Falcons (15-5, 5-2). Devin Higginbotham took the loss for Fitch. He allowed three runs on five hits, striking out two in 32/3 innings. Christian Myers, TJ Piroch and Bobby Cavalier all had multiple hits for the Falcons.
Minerva 6, Crestview 5
The Lions scored all their runs in the first two innings for an early 6-1 lead and held on to beat the Rebels (11-6). Crestview scored a run in the top of the first, two in the fourth and two in the seventh. Devin Turvey singled, doubled and drove in a run for the Rebels and Jude Riffle added two singles.
Liberty 4, Brookfield 3
Trevor Strohmeyer struck out 13 and walked one a complete-game win. He allowed seven hits and two earned runs. Justin Atkinson struck out four in a complete-game loss. Atkinson drove in two for the Warriors (5-13). Eric Shingledecker had two hits for Brookfield. Zach Coman hit a two-run home run for the Leopards (4-15, 4-6 AAC Blue).
The All-American Conference is an OHSAA-sanctioned league, created in 2008 as the result of the merger between the Trumbull Athletic Conference and the Metro Athletic Conference in Ohio. The league has 21 different member schools, with 17 sports offered throughout fall, winter and spring sports seasons.
