CORTLAND — Brendon Kilpatrick had a strong performance, tallying 28 points in an 85-73 win for the Lakeview Bulldogs over Liberty Friday night.
It seemed like the Bulldogs couldn’t miss from behind the arc early. Lakeview made six 3-pointers in the first quarter and held a 27-9 lead going into the second
As happy as Bulldogs coach Ryan Fitch was with the win. Fitch was worried about maintaining momentum after the great start.
“We shot the ball really well early,” Fitch said. “We came out and made some shots and we got some open layups. When you get out to a lead like that, you just hope you can keep that momentum going and get a W.”
Kilpatrick was a key player in the Bulldog first-quarter run, draining four of his five 3-pointers in the period and scoring half of his points. According to Fitch, a performance like that isn’t strange.
