White, Ernst step up in OT despite ailments to lead Edgewood past Struthers

ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — Edgewood captains Marcus Ernst and Brevin White were both hampered for the boys basketball game against Struthers Tuesday evening at Edgewood High School.

White was playing in his first game in a couple of weeks because of a knee injury. Ernst, meanwhile, spent most of the day dealing with flu-like symptoms.

The senior duo couldn’t use those ailments as an excuse, though, with the Warriors needing them heading into an overtime period. Edgewood watched as what was a 17-point lead with 4:32 remaining in regulation slip away, putting the Warriors in a bad spot as four extra minutes loomed.
