ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — Edgewood High School senior and member of the National Honor Society Kaileigh Sloan, has been named one of 25 national finalists in the National Honor Society Scholarship program.
Sloan was chosen from more than 9,000 applicants and will receive a $4,500 scholarship.
“Kaileigh Sloan is both a student in my English class and a member of National Honor Society, and in both instances she displays an exemplary work ethic and a desire to assist wherever she is needed,” wrote Michelle Sardella, English teacher and NHS advisor.
High school seniors who are members in good standing of an active National Honor Society chapter are able to apply for an NHS Scholarship.
The All-American Conference is an OHSAA-sanctioned league, created in 2008 as the result of the merger between the Trumbull Athletic Conference and the Metro Athletic Conference in Ohio. The league has 21 different member schools, with 17 sports offered throughout fall, winter and spring sports seasons.
