Each week, the All American Conference will present a "Q & A" with one of its many gifted student-athletes from a participating AAC school. The athlete featured must excel in the classroom and shown that he/her has gone above and beyond on both the field of play and by volunteering in his/her community. This week's featured student athlete player is Avamarie Colaluca from Boardman Spartans.

Sport/Position: Varsity Cheerleading / Caption
Bio: I am a senior at Boardman High School, where I serve as 1st in class, Student Council President, Varsity Cheer captain, and a member of National Honors Society and Italian NHS. I have also received All-American Cheerleader honors and am a competitive dancer at Epic Dance Complex.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to attend college and audition for a Division 1 collegiate dance team.
What is your favorite class?
This year, my favorite class is Honors Italian Four.
What do you enjoy most about playing this sport?
Supporting my friends on the field and on the court!
What type of volunteer work are you involved in within your community?
I am involved in six different community service organizations: National Honors Society, Student Council, Student Government, Emerging Leaders, Link Crew, and Big Spartan Little Spartan.
What is the most memorable moment in your scholastic career?
Maintaining first in class and valedictorian status.
What is your favorite sports related movie?
Space Jam or The Sandlot
Do you have any pre-game/match/meet rituals?
Before every home game, the seniors host a team feed at their house for all JV and Varsity members to encourage team bonding prior to hitting the track.
Who is your role model?
My dad is my role model because as both an athlete and an educator, he has taught me how to work hard and excel in both disciplines.
Do you have any special talents or is there something surprising about you that others might not know about you?
I was crowned queen of the Greater Youngstown Italian Fest this year!

What song best describes you or is the sound track to your life?
“Where Is the Love?” by The Black Eyed Peas has always been an anthem for my life.
Are you looking to continue your playing career in college?
Yes! I plan to continue my athletic career on the sidelines, but as a dancer.
Do you have a field of study already chosen when you go to college? Why that field?
What team do you most enthusiastically root for?
I root for the Boardman Spartans, Cincinnati Bearcats and The Ohio State Buckeyes!

The All-American Conference is an OHSAA-sanctioned league, created in 2008 as the result of the merger between the Trumbull Athletic Conference and the Metro Athletic Conference in Ohio. The league has 21 different member schools, with 17 sports offered throughout fall, winter and spring sports seasons.
