Hubbard took the lead in the second quarter and then held visiting Indian Creek to seven points in the second half en route to a 51-21 Division IV, Region 13 quarterfinal victory Saturday night.
The Eagles (10-1) had enough weapons to cover the loss of running back Rafael Morales, whose season was cut short due to two ejections during regular-season games.
Quarterback Davion Daniels had three touchdowns runs and Lukas Mosora had a pair of TD runs. Also scoring were Jermia Harris and Shannon Slovesko.
Hubbard will play Steubenville next week at a site to be announced today.
Daniels rushed 14 times for 222 yards as Hubbard outgained the Redskins on the ground, 481-56. The Eagles’ linemen were center Seth Jones, Joe Bednarik and Reese Best on the right side, Mario Eusanio and Anthony Shaffer of the left side and tight ends Matt Scheidegger and Alex Goodrick and the versatile Mosora.
Ahead 31-14 after Anthony Corrin’s 30-yard field goal, Jermia Harris broke off a 60-yard touchdown run to increase Hubbard’s lead to 37-14.
