AJ Mclellan scored a game high 23 points to lead Lakeview (1-0). Jeff Remmick added 16 points for the Bulldogs. Champion was led by Chase Wheelock (15 points) and Joe Abramovich (12).
Brookfield 67, Southeast 43
Haden Gibson scored 24 points to pace Brookfield. Connor Stevens added 17 points and Brady Reichart also reached double figures with 15 points and nine rebounds. Gage Emery had 11 rebounds for the Warriors. Southeast was led by Nate Kurtz with 12 points and Conner Mucdowney with 10.
Niles 80, Liberty 64
Cyler Kane-Johnson scored a game high and Niles school record 55 points. Kane-Johnson was 15 of 20 from the floor and hit five 3-pointers. He also added eight rebounds. Corbin Foy added six for the Dragons. Ezell Brown led Liberty with 25 points. Omarion Dawson added 18 and Marquan Tate netted 11 points for the Leopards.
Newton Falls 61, Ravenna 53
Newton Falls opened its season with a win on the road thanks to Preston Rapczak’s 19 points and Gage Friend’s 17. Adam Honeycutt made four threes in a 14-point performance. Ethan Alexander led Ravenna (0-1) with 16 points.
Lisbon 68, Crestview 45
Sophomore Ryan McCullough led Lisbon to victory in a battle of elite underclassmen with 26 points and Brice Blackburn added 15 points. Crestview (0-1) was also led in scoring by a sophomore as Drake Golden scored 20 points.
The All-American Conference is an OHSAA-sanctioned league, created in 2008 as the result of the merger between the Trumbull Athletic Conference and the Metro Athletic Conference in Ohio. The league has 21 different member schools, with 17 sports offered throughout fall, winter and spring sports seasons.
