Champion, Liberty, Newton Falls post AAC Blue Tier wins in Girls Basketball

CHAMPION 66, BROOKFIELD 42: CHAMPION — The Golden Flashes kept rolling to their sixth straight victory with an All-American Conference, Blue Tier victory over the Warriors.

Champion’s defense held Brookfield leading scorer Bailey Drapola to three points.

Offensively, the Golden Flashes (9-3, 4-1 AAC Blue Tier) had four double-figure scorers led by Emma Gumont’s 18. Brooke Whitt had 16, while Abby White added 13 and Allison Smith put in 11.

Chloe Willrich paced the Warriors (9-4, 3-2), who snapped a five-game winning streak, with 15 points. Becca Litz added 10.

LIBERTY 41, LaBRAE 40: LIBERTY — The Leopards outscored the Vikings 15-11 in the final quarter to lift Liberty to this AAC Blue Tier win over LaBrae.

Sharda Williamson paced the Leopards (8-3, 2-2) with 14 points, while Delia Watson added 13.

Marissa Roberts led LaBrae (9-4, 2-4) with 13 points.

NEWTON FALLS 63, EDGEWOOD 8: NEWTON FALLS — Allison Sembach had six 3-pointers for 18 points to lead the Tigers past the Warriors.

Madison Haidet had 13 points for Newton Falls (9-3, 3-1 AAC Blue), while Libby Barreca added 11.

Katie Eldred paced Edgewood with four points.

All-American Conference

The All-American Conference is an OHSAA-sanctioned league, created in 2008 as the result of the merger between the Trumbull Athletic Conference and the Metro Athletic Conference in Ohio. The league has 21 different member schools, with 17 sports offered throughout fall, winter and spring sports seasons.
