Boys Wrap-Up Scores: LaBrae/Brookfield, Newton Falls/Crestview, Campbell/Champion, & Edgewood/Liberty

LaBRAE 67, BROOKFIELD 45: LEAVITTSBURG — The Vikings won their sixth straight powered by Elijah Whiteside’s game-high 19 points. He had eight of them in the first quarter.

Tyler Stephens added six of his 12 points in the second quarter as LaBrae (9-1, 3-1 AAC Blue) took a 31-21 lead into the halftime — outscoring the Warriors (5-5, 2-2) 15-7 in the second quarter.

Benton Tennant added 10 points for the Vikings.

Jon Hiner paced Brookfield with 16 points.

NEWTON FALLS 62, CRESTVIEW 35: COLUMBIANA — The Tigers jumped out to a 20-11 lead and pulled away in their All-American Conference Blue Tier victory. Newton Falls led 31-17 at haltime and 50-22 after three quarters.

Preston Rapczak led the Tigers (6-4, 3-1) with 18 points, Adam Honeycutt had 10 and Cole Marquette added nine.

CHAMPION 69, CAMPBELL 48: CHAMPION — Joe Abramovich poured in 26 points and Chase Wheelock scored 23 as the Golden Flashes used a quick start in their All-American Conference Blue Tier win.

Champion (7-4, 2-2) led 23-7 after one quarter, then held leads of 40-23 at halftime and 50-34 after three quarters.

EDGEWOOD 85, LIBERTY 56: LIBERTY — Liberty lost its fifth in a row, falling behind 25-13 after one quarter and trailing 45-22 at halftime in the All-American Conference Blue Tier contest.

Manuel DuBose led the Leopards (3-8, 2-2) with 14 points. Travis Myers scored 12, Ezell Brown had 10 and Darrion Williams nine.

All-American Conference

The All-American Conference is an OHSAA-sanctioned league, created in 2008 as the result of the merger between the Trumbull Athletic Conference and the Metro Athletic Conference in Ohio. The league has 21 different member schools, with 17 sports offered throughout fall, winter and spring sports seasons.
